Seventh Grade -Team Color is Purple

7th grade - Midterms have been sent home and need to be returned with a parent signature.  We are taking a proactive approach to prevent the spread of influenza, viruses, and other germs.  You can help by donating a container of disinfecting wipes and/or hand sanitizer to your child's advisory teacher.  Your donation would be much appreciated!

MATH- We will finish up our unit on number sense by having our unit test Tuesday/Wednesday.  We will then begin our next unit on integers (positive and negative whole numbers).

PRE-ALGEBRA – We will continue our unit on integers by subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.  We will also begin using the order of operations.  Keep up the great work.

COMP - On Monday students will be given a study guide for the noun, pronoun, and adjective test.  The test will be on Tues/Wed and will be 80 points.  After the test, students will be given a project outline sheet for the Mythological Monologue.  The monologues are due on Nov. 3 and 4, and no lates will be accepted.  We will spend the rest of the week researching our mythological characters using book resources and internet resources.  Book orders are due by Friday, Oct. 9, and the books should arrive by the following Friday.

WORLD GEOGRAPHY-Students should have brought home a study guide to work on over the weekend that covers both Chapters 2 and 3.   We will finish  the last reading section of Chapter 3: "The World's People" on Monday.  All remaining work on the study guide should then be finished-class time will not be given for the study guide.   We will play review games on T/W to help prepare students for the test on Th/F.  After the test students will be given and review the criteria for their next project: Region Guides.  The first grade given with this project will be for returning the parent signature sheet that is part of the original assignment sheet. This project will take a lot of student focus and strict time management.  As this project is worth a LARGE number of points-students' best efforts should be given!  Have a great weekend!

LITERATURE-Next week in literature class we will be wrapping up our The City of Ember book. We will be discussing the novel, reviewing key points, and working on reading skills throughout the week. Our The City of Ember test will be Tuesday/Wednesday October 13th/14th. In addition, all outside reading projects are due on Monday October 19th. Please check with your student for the expectations and rubric for this project. Have a fabulous weekend!
