Circulation

Students may check out up to 8 books at a time. Books circulate for a two-week period and may be renewed as needed unless a hold has been placed on the title. Students must bring any book needing renewal to the library so that the librarian or library helpers can re-scan the barcode and record the new due date.

Any student with overdue items will not be able to checkout until all overdue books have been returned. Also, any student with fines exceeding $1.00 will not be able to checkout books until his/her fines have been paid (fines accumulate at 10 cents per school day per book ).

Photocopies

A copier is available in the library for research purposes.  Any student needing copies should ask the librarian or library helpers for assistance.

Lost Materials

Students must return all borrowed items to the library.   If a student loses or damages a book, magazine, or media item, the student is responsible for replacing it.   To replace an item, students may submit cash or check (made out to Pleasant Plains High School “lost library book” memo line) or a new or used item (in good condition).

Interlibrary Loan

As a member of the Alliance Library System, the PPHS library is able to borrow library materials from other school libraries, public libraries, and academic libraries through interlibrary loan.  Interlibrary Loan is a courtesy other libraries extend to us.

Students and faculty are expected to pay attention to and honor assigned due dates on materials borrowed from other libraries.    If materials are needed for a longer time period than the due date provided, students should let the librarian know how long they expect to need these specific items.

Accessing Online Databases

PPHS students and faculty members are encouraged to utilize the online subscription datbases from home.  Password and login information can be obtained in the media center.
