Bureau of the Public Debt
Information from the United States Treasury Department about the Public Debt, Savings Bonds, and Treasury Notes. It includes The Public Debt to the Penny, updated daily.

National Register of Historic Places
The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of the U.S.'s historic places worthy of preservation.  Authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Park Service's National Register of Historic Places is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate and protect America's historic and archeological resources.

History Central contains a complete history of many aspects of the United States.  It has information on every war America has been involved in as well as aviation history and naval history.  It also has sections pertaining to different eras of the United States and different races in the U.S.

Library of Congress Homepage
The Library of Congress is the nation’s oldest federal cultural institution and serves as the research arm of Congress. It is also the largest library in the world, with millions of books, recordings photographs, maps and manuscripts in it’s collections.

New Deal Network
At the core of the NDN is a database of photographs, political cartoons, and texts (speeches, letters, and other historic documents from the New Deal period). Currently there are over 20,000 items in this database, many of them previously accessible only to scholars. Unlike many databases on the Web, which represent the holdings of a particular institution, NDN is drawing from a wide variety of sources around the country to create a theme-based archive.
