Setting Goals

with some detail and show a relationship between various aspects

some examples provided. Goals are explained but not fully analyzed.

without adequate depth and development. Goals are stated and accompanied
by a timeline.
Describing the Career:
4- The research allows for the career to
be completely analyzed and describes all basic elements of the
job. Career strands are specifically identified and several related
careers are addressed. The job outlook is thoroughly evaluated
and evidence supports research.
3- Research allows for a strong description
of career, provides a general analysis of the career, and addresses
many of the basic elements of the job. Career strands are mentioned,
but more as an afterthought. Job outlook is researched and some
predictions are made.
2- The career is defined but lacks coverage
of many of the basic elements of the job. Career strands are indirectly
mentioned. Job outlook is presented but not developed or supported
by evidence.
1- The career is identified. The career
strands are not introduced. The job outlook is largely ignored
or incorrect information is given.
Linking the Career Selection:
4- The skill and ability requirements of
the career are compared to distinct skills, interests and abilities
of the presenter. A plan that outlines areas which need improvement
is presented. There is a clear demonstration of the goals that
can be achieved through the career.
3- The career choice is compared to the
skills, interests and abilities of the presenter. Strengths and
weaknesses are analyzed. Goals are connected in a general sense.
2- The career choice is compared to the
talents of the presenter, but this tends to be very general. Areas
of strength and weakness are identified. Goals are not connected
in a clear sense.
1- Some talents and skills are mentioned.
The presentation lacks specifics
and offers little analysis. Goals are mentioned briefly or omitted.
Interviewing the Expert:
4- The results of the interview have been
integrated into the description and
analysis of the career. The information from the expert is effectively
used to provide examples, offer further insight, and increase
both presenter's
and audience's understanding of the career.
3- The results of the interview are included
in the description of the career.
The expert opinion is used to assist in the description of the
career and to highlight areas of the career.
2- The results of the interview are mentioned
but stand alone. There is little integration with the remainder
of the section. It contains information that
supports the research.
1- The interview was conducted and mentioned,
but does not effectively enhance the presentation.
