HOW AM I GOING TO GET THERE?
Evaluating Present Situation:
4- The statement of intent clearly illustrates
future plans and actions of the student and is aligned to the
specific goals, skills or talents. Career skills are evaluated
and strengths and weaknesses are identified. A plan to address
weaknesses is evident.
3- The statement of intent defines future
plans and aligns with some student goals and skills. Career skills
are evaluated with strengths and weaknesses identified.
2- The statement of intent addresses elements of future plans,
but lacks clear focus. Career skills are presented but little
or no analysis is offered.
1- A broad statement of intent is presented
but lacks connection to any other elements of the project. Evidence
of career skills is minimal or not present at all.
Predicting Future Needs:
4- A cost analysis provides specific budget
requirements (i.e. housing costs, tuition/training costs, transportation,
etc.) A timetable is created show examples of goals being effected
by time and cost. Potential decisions, the consequences of those
decisions, and roadblocks to success are evaluated.
3- A general cost analysis provides information
regarding future financial needs. Demonstrates the relationship
between cost and the time needed to achieve goals. Potential decisions,
consequences of decisions, and roadblocks are identified and discussed.
Some analysis is attempted.
2- A cost analysis is mentioned but based
on unrealistic expectations. The cost and time needed to achieve
goals are mention, but no clear relationship is established. The
decisions and roadblocks are inconsistently presented and no analysis
is offered.
1- The financial status and needs are incomplete
and not based on realistic information. There is not relationship
between time, cost and goals. The decisions and roadblocks do
not demonstrate meaningful thought nor realistic expectations.
