Cross Country
MS Cross Country practice begins Monday, August 2 from 8:30am - 10:00am. Starting Tuesday, August 3, practice will be from 7:30am - 9:00am.
Your child must have a physical before they can practice. If you have any questions please contact Coach Park at mpark@ppcusd8.org
A mandatory meeting for all middle and high school athletes (all sports), coaches and parents is slated for Monday, August 2 at the middle school. The office staff will be available to collect athletic fees at these meetings which are: middle school 6-6:45 p.m. and high school, 7‑7:45 p.m. Athletic fees for the 2010-11 school year are $35 per sport with a cap of $105 per family.

Two of our students have won some really great art awards at the Sangamon County Fair, which started on June 16th in New Berlin:
Lacee Peebles, daughter of Cathy & Randy Peebles, [5th grader, now 6th grader] won 2 - 1st Place ribbons. She received her top honors on her Pencil drawing [Farmingdale Covered Bridge] and on her Crayon/Pastel drawing [Hamburger].
Danielle Valois, daughter of Diana & Rick Valois [6th grader, now 7th grader] won a 1st Place ribbon on her Watercolor painting [Rustic 1912 Barn] and a 4th on her Colored Pencil drawing [Honda XR75 Motorcycle]. Additionally, Danielle was awarded the sole Grand Champion large "Best of Show" rosette ribbon for the entire Junior Amateur Visual Arts Show. This covers all 3 age division brackets - up thru age 18, so Danielle beat even the best 12th grade senior high school artists from around the county!

Congratulations to Marisa Helmerichs for her two silver medals in the balance beam and floor exercise at the State Special Olympics Gymnastic Meet held in Normal. Marisa is the daughter of Erik and Colleen Helmerichs and will be a sixth grader at PPMS. Way to go Marisa!!](index_files/image611.gif)
