Fight Free School

Farmingdale School is a fight-free school!  Our goal is to provide a positive and safe learning environment in which all students can learn.

A fight-free school is:
1) A school where the administration, staff and parents set a goal to create a fight-free school.
2) A school where fight-free behavior is promoted, recognized and encouraged through daily reminders, praise, modeling and recognition.
3) A school where fight-free behavior is discussed, taught, and practiced.
4) A school where students learn alternative methods of dealing with anger and conflict.

Behaviors that
will not be tolerated:

1) Threats to apply force or physical injury.
2) Fighting
3) Single assault - where one person hits, kicks, pushes, shoves, bites, pinches, pulls hair or throws objects.

The entire student body will say the fight-free pledge each morning.  Each class will have their own banner.  Every morning the principal will announce how many classroom banners are up at the start of the day for remaining fight-free the previous day.  Classrooms that have remained fight-free at the end of each quarter will receive an incentive.
