Classroom visitation is very worthwhile.  We feel that more cooperation between home and school will bring about a big improvement in our educational program.  We would like to encourage parents to visit their child's classroom more often.  We ask, however, that you contact the school office in advance as to when you would like to visit the school.
All parents and visitors must stop in at the school office first.  If you are picking your child up early, the secretary will intercom the classroom and your child will be sent down.  If you are dropping something off for the child or the classroom, you may leave it in the office.

Please do not drop by the classroom during instruction.  This is very distracting to the students and disrupts the pace of the lesson.  You will be helping many children that are easily distracted if you abide by this policy.

Visiting Your Student During Lunch

Lunchtime visits are allowed at Farmingdale Elementary School.  Students often enjoy a visit from a parent on a special occasion.  However, we ask that visitors comply with the following guidelines to insure that the time spent at Farmingdale Elementary does not infringe on the educational process, put students at a safety risk, or cause hurt feelings.
§ We ask that visitors sign in at the office desk and display a  visitor badge while in our building.
§ We will not allow outside food to be brought in for lunch.  If parents visit for lunch we expect them to purchase an adult lunch in the office.
§ Visitors should arrive in time to enjoy the twenty minute lunch period in the cafeteria, but should not allow early and expect to go the classroom as instruction will be taking place and we will not interrupt the educational process.
§ After lunch, visitors are asked to come back to the office and will not be allowed on the playground or in the gym during recess.  This is done to protect all children as our recess supervisors have strict directives to question any adult who is not part of the Farmingdale Faculty or Staff.
