Directions for these drills are posted in each room in the building.  Anyone in the hall when a fire drill occurs should use the nearest exit.  The signal for a disaster drill is an intermittent ringing of bells.  The fire warning is a continuous buzzing of the fire alarm.  These drills are to be taken seriously.  If possible, windows should be closed when the first signal sounds for a fire drill.  They should be left open during a disaster drill.  The last pupil out of the room should close the classroom door.  The first student to reach the exterior doors should hold them open until everyone leaves the building.  These drills will be conducted periodically so that students remain familiar with the procedures.
