BEHAVIORS AND DEFINITIONS
Cheating - The willful act of obtaining, using and/or giving information in a fraudulent manner.
Disrespect - To call derogatory names, dishonor, or in any other manner abuse verbally or in writing any member of the school staff or student body.
Disruption - Any act that disrupts the educational process or setting.
Insubordination - The willful failure to respond or carry out a reasonable request by authorized school personnel.
Littering - The act of willfully littering on school property.
Misuse of Computer - Intentional, inappropriate use of computer/computer lab, including accessing inappropriate websites.
Obscenity - The act of using obscene or profane language in verbal or written form or in pictures, caricatures or obscene gestures on any school property.
Plagiarism - The act of willfully taking the ideas, writing, etc., from another and passing them off as one's own.
Tardy Referral - The act of lateness to school. A tardy referral will occur when a student has been tardy 3 times in a semester.
Unauthorized Entry - The act of entering, without permission, without force, any rooms, vehicles and personal property in or on school property. This includes assisting in such an act by propping a locked door open etc. for the purpose of such entry.
DISCIPLINE GUIDELINES FOR LEVEL I BEHAVIORS
First Offense
A verbal warning will be given to the student. The teacher will explain the reason(s) why this kind of behavior is unacceptable.
Second Offense
The classroom teacher will contact the parent informing them of the problem.
Third Offense
A one-day noon recess work detail.
Fourth Offense
A meeting with an administrator and the student shall occur. A three-day noon recess work detail will be administered.
Fifth Offense
A meeting will be held with student, parents, teacher and the administrator. Up to 3 days suspension may result.
