When To Keep Your Child Home

It is the parent's responsibility to keep children home when they are ill.  These are the prevalent symptoms that should tell you to keep your child at home (depending upon the severity and frequency, your family physician should be consulted):

Temperature/Fever                     Sore Throat                      Nausea/Vomiting            Swollen Glands
Skin Rash/Lesion                        Chills/Headache              Severe Pain                     Acute Cold
Earache                                       Dizziness/Faintness         Excessive Sneezing         Coughing
Watery Discharge from nostrils   Inflamed Eyes (Red or Sore)
We recommend that students not return to school until they have been fever free for 24 hours.
School policy requires that all students participate in outdoor recess when in attendance unless restricted by a physician's written order
.

Emergency Care

It is important that the school have an emergency telephone number for each student.  This should be the number of someone who can be called if the student becomes ill, and the parents cannot be reached.  Parents are urged to notify said party that their number has been given to the school as an emergency number.
All accidents occurring on school property must be reported to the principal's office. Minor first aid will be given at the office.  In serious cases where immediate medical attention is required, the parents will be notified. If the parents cannot be located, the emergency telephone number designated on the card will be called.
