The Board shall not tolerate verbal or physical abuse of District employees by students, other District employees, parents and/or other members of the public. For the purposes of this Section, verbal use shall include threatening or offensive language (communicated in person or by phone, letter or any other means) and physical assault and/or battery. Any students who shall violate this policy shall be subject to appropriate discipline under the District's disciplinary code. Any employee who shall violate this policy shall be subject to appropriate discipline under applicable Board policy or the provisions of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Any parent or other member of the public who shall violate this policy may be restricted from entering upon District property (including school buses) without the prior written consent of the appropriate building principal or the superintendent. In addition, the Board shall reserve the right to refer any verbal or physical abuse to appropriate law enforcement agencies for such actions, as they shall deem necessary and appropriate.
