The Accelerated Reader Program consists of computer generated reading comprehension tests. Students select Accelerated Reader books from the classroom, the library, or their home collection. They read the book and take a 10 question test to check their understanding of the story. Students then earn points based upon the reading level of the book and their performance on the test.
Students in our class are required to take two comprehension tests at reading level 3.0 or higher each month.
Additionally, they are encouraged to read and take tests at any level as often as they like. They are rewarded with small prizes for each reading goal they achieve.
Farmingdale Elementary School owns the right to 4,294 Accelerated Reader Tests. Click below to access a copy of all books that have a test. You may find that books in your home collection are eligible for the Accelerated Reader Program.
